The leather is very soft the dark brown color is wonderful as well. I have searched everywhere for a good quality leather purse that was both beautiful as well as practical. The shoulder strap hangs about my waist and sits comfortably. I would recommend that before someone makes this purchase that they do consider getting the Apple Leather Care product at the time, so they can protect this soft leather properly from the start.
